eBay Advanced Search RSS Gone! |
While researching some items to sell on eBay today I noticed something strange. As I normally do headed over to eBay's advanced search entered my search term and scrolled down to the bottom to find the orange RSS button. However, it seems that eBay has removed it during their search redesign. So I wanted to check and make sure that my featured eBay Feeds were still working and they were. What this means is that the RSS system is still in place eBay just no longer seems to be adding a convenient way to access it. This is important because RSS can be used to do a lot of Advanced eBay Market Research for free.
Many people on search forums have been saying that you can get around this by simply adding &rss=1 to the end of the URL for your advanced search. However having tried this myself I came up with two outcomes either the page wasn't found or it simply reloaded the eBay search results. It neither case could you subscribe to the feed. I know that it must be possible because as I said before my old feeds are working. If anyone has any other tips or tricks to solve this problem please leave them in the comments section below.

ReplyDeleteDoes someone found a solution ?
There are some post on the eBay forums here http://forums.ebay.com/db1/topic/Search/No-More-Rss/5100162634 that talk about clearing cookies and browser issues. Haven't tried it myself as I have a lot of passwords saved using cookies with FireFox and would rather not go back and save them all again. Apparently you can also still construct your own RSS urls using eBay's RSS API but that's a pretty steep learning curve.
